Gussets were added in many locations where bars came together for added strength.
You know a good place to add strength? Around the driver’s head is a good spot. This sheet metal ties the B-pillar of the car to the cage.
As is often the case, the rear corners of a unibody chassis need to be boxed to provide a solid foundation for the rear of the cage.
Here you can see how large those rear box sections are for the rear of the cage to mount to.
Every good cage needs to be painted of course. Here you can also see how the A-pillars were tied to the cage for improved roll-over protection.

After the full-on extreme makeover, Opy comes out cut and buff with a super sturdy cage.
