We Check Out AMS Performance’s Turbo Test Rig

The Turbosmart wastegates come with position sensors. Pressure lines are plumbed to both upper and lower ports of the wastegates. Depending on the turbo setup, pressure is applied to the top of the diaphragm to help keep the wastegate closed to get the turbo to generate very high levels of boost pressure. The pressure lines are all wrapped in insulation to protect them from heat.

A pair of boost solenoids control the signals to the wastegates.

The exhaust manifold has both EGT and pressure measurements at the collectors for each pairing of cylinders.

This adapter is used for testing the turbos with v-band housings.

At the turbine outlet, EGT, pressure, and A/F ratio are all measured.
