Like we mentioned in our Day 1 Report, WTAC had a section of the paddock reserved for the “Legends of the Turbo Era”. This is the second year WTAC has had these cars on hand and since it was so popular last year, the team decided to let the cars on track for their own session during the lunch break. Though this was not part of the competition, I still can't rob you guys/gals of the hardware that was on display and on track – enjoy!
All the Nissan buffs will appreciate this Bluebird from the 80's. |
A little history was dropped on me when I asked about this GT-R. Apparently it dominatd the Australian Group-A class to such an extent that the rules had to be modifed! |
A little old school Group-A Supra love for all you Toyota fans out there. |
Now of course this car has nothing to do with the Legends of the Turbo era, but it's just a little more eye candy for y'all. Unfortunately this Lotus had a nasty off on Saturday that tore up the front end of the car. |
This beautiful example of a late model Toyota Supra was competing in the Clubsprint Class, so it's legit to drive on the street. Unfortunately the car was a good 5 seconds behind the top 5 cars in the class. |
