2013 Modified StreetCar Shootout – The Rules, The Cars, The Big Tease.

,

Snail Performance WRX
AZ Local Markos Mylonas brought out his F.A.T./Snail Performance WRX.  Manley H-beam connecting rods, APR head studs, Grimmspeed up-pipe and Turbosmart Hypergate 45 external wastegate and dual-port blow off valve, Invidia N1 race cat-back exhaust, Deatsch Werks 850cc injectors, Walbro 255lph fuel pump, AFI fuel rails, and Turbosmart FPR-1200.  The FAT in the Snail is actually Forced Air Technologies and despite the fact that they are under the same roof they use a proper approach to builds. FAT builds and Snail tunes and in this case they came to COMPETE HARD!

Suspension modifications include Whiteline Steering Rack Bushings, Roll Center kit (increased roll resistance and better weight transfer distribution), Anti-lift Race (adds 0.5 degrees positive caster to both front wheels for better turn-in response and reduced understeer), adjustable lateral links, front and rear endlinks, Subaru WRX Aluminum A-Arms, and Snail Performance front strut bar, rear v-brace, and subframe. Rumor has it that 400WHP shows up at around 25 PSI and it weighs in around 3050 lbs and routes power through a JDM STi trans. Of course the 5 speed shit itself on the way through the drive through window…

Hasport showing you can steal the motor out of your mom's minivan and kick some ass at the track; be it straight line or road course… This car was consistent all weekend long. No drama- just gas and go, just like your mom's odyssey only a LOT faster!

When we posted up a shot of the Conquest on the MIQ FB page loyal reader #OMG its weasel mentioned it was so badass it was painted in “unicorn blood”. I liked that description so much I made it a caption! Thanks MIQ readers!

This is the parting shot… Who had the balance to win the entire event? And WHO has the details on this effing M3? Share them with us!

And this is where we deliver on the big tease portion of the title! We aren't going to share anything other than what we already have! Yes, we have the winners but this is Modified Mag's event and it would be awful shitty of us to spoil the entire event THEY and THEIR sponsors worked so hard to host! So pretty please with a cherry on top, head to your news stand and buy a print magazine for the results. And if you are crazy enough, start building a car for the 2014 challenge!
