Lots of options with Diode Dynamics
In our application we needed to replace the center dome, two map lights, the vanity front visor lights and the rear license plate lights to fully convert our truck over to LED lights. For color temperature we opted for cool white at 6000k and and for the map lights at first opted for the 56 lumen HP3 bulb that blanketed the cabin with 6000k cool white light but they were too bright for us when glancing overhead. These same bulbs carry over for the license plate lights and there too they overpowered the low tech backup camera on the Tacoma. The Diode Dynamics guys were great and quickly swapped out the HP3 53 lumen bulbs for the SMD2 24 lumen bulbs. These lights are much better, both in the cabin and for the rear license plate. The rearview camera now functions as it should.

We changed the dome light too
For the dome light in the middle of the cab we opted for the HP6 130 lumen light. Back there with the heavier coating on the lens the extra lumens weren’t as overwhelming. They also have a slightly dimmer 118 lumen option available in the 6000k color temperature. For the vanity lights on the visor mirrors we used the 16 lumen SMF1 6000k bulb. These provided plenty of light in that application. For those that want other colors there are other bulbs with warmer 3000k white or blue, red, orange and green. With all these bulbs installed we’ve got the OEM+ look we were after and a nice blanket of light in the cabin.
