The WildPeak A/T3W’s silica compound and tread pattern were engineered to excel with durability in coarse off-road surfaces without sacrificing on-road grip, handling characteristics, ride quality and Noise/Vibration/Harshness (NVH). The tread blocks and outer shoulder features what Falken calls “support ramps” and “step-down features” that not only improve rigidity and on-road handling-response, but provides good grip off-road, mud and snow evacuation from the grooves, and resist chipping and tearing from stones trapped in the grooves. The WildPeak A/T3W’s upper sidewall is heavily bolstered to protect the tire from rocks and debris during extreme off-roading conditions while providing extra traction in deep mud, snow, dirt, and off-camber situations. To the right of the “AT3W” designation is the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol which means this tire meets the packed snow traction tests and standards of the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) and the Rubber Association of Canada (RAC).
The lower sidewall of the tire has a trapezoidal pattern in it which are actually designed to dissipate heat in the internal structure of the tire when towing or hauling loads. The tire’s construction is made of twin steel belts and two polyester body plies which are reinforced with a secondary beat apex which both improve handling as well as extra protection off-road. An additional polyamide reinforcement ply further improves handling and high-speed capability of the WildPeak A/T3W.
