When the COPO concept was first shown at the 2011 SEMA Show, the overwhelming response inspired the decision for a limited, special-edition production run.  The return of the COPO was so successful that the continuation of the program was announced at the 2012 SEMA Show, and yet another 69 COPO Camaros were produced for 2013.
A 69-car production was selected to commemorate the original number of ZL-1 COPO Camaros made in 1969. COPO — which stands for Central Office Production Order — was Chevrolet's special-order system, notoriously used by dealers in the 1960s to build high-performance models that couldn't be found anywhere else.
“The second-coming of the COPO name is an extension of the legacy started in 1969, when the first purpose-built Camaro drag-racing specialty car was designed to compete with the quickest in NHRA's Stock Eliminator and Super Stock classes. National records for quarter-mile times in these contests are in the 9-second range.” See Chevy's COPO site for more info.
As evidenced here, engines were assembled in Wixom, Michigan, at the Performance Build Center. Buyers could even opt to participate in the engine assembly!  350, 396, and 427 cubic inch, naturally aspirated engines are available for the 2013 model year. Holley also has several parts standard on the new COPO, including the HP EFI kit, Holley Hi-Ram intake, and an Earl’s Performance Plumbing transmission cooler installed on it from the factory.
There is rarely a brand that is not represented at the Caffeine and Octane Show.  Some brands such as Beck, stand out simply by their presence.  By comparison Ford, while seemingly common, offers beauty in form factors such as this 1969 BOSS 351 Mustang.
