Everyone stood around the car anxiously. We were all awaiting the end of the dyno pulls.

Normally, when you are in this position, you're asking for more power, more torque, or more area under the curve. However, with the MPTCC Tuner Under rules, Edik was asking for low numbers. He needed very low numbers.

186 HP, 194 HP, he would even settle for 200 HP, just so long as his car was at the limit, it wouldn't matter. He wanted 200 HP or less.

We all watched on, in bewilderment. None of us could figure out what was going on.

The Air Fuel ratio was right for where Edik tuned the car, which was overly rich to limit power. That's what we were seeing on the recording and the car was fueling as it was supposed to, but the gauge couldn't read it.

However, the numbers don't lie. We watched something that hasn't happened in MPTCC History.

Edik was over powered by 10-27 horsepower. That's right, Edik's car was making the horsepower that it advertised at Sonoma, but it also made more and less. This was the part that had all of us confused. However, something was broken on his car and it was later traced by Edik after the dyno session to a fault with the distributor. The drive shaft/gear had broken and was allowing the timing to intermittently advance.  Since the timing was retarded to limit power, advancing it gave the car lots of power more often than not. In the fairness of competition, Edik has allowed his points to be given to Steve Rockwood for Race 2 and gave his points back for Race 1.

This means that Edik Stepanyan is now in second place behind Scion Racing's Michele Abbate! Michele leads Edik by a mere 7 points in MPTCC Tuner Under. MotoIQ's Steve Rockwood trails in third by 21 points. Dave Lemon from Mazdatrix is in place to win the Tuner Over Championship with 20 Points. Who would have known how close our very own championship would come this season?! The final race will determine who takes home the championship in Tuner Under. Join us November 10th-11th at Buttonwillow Raceway as we crown our winners and champions on Sunday! Will Edik come back from Second Place? Will Michele take it all? Or will there be a spoiler to it all? You won't find out until we do, so join us at Buttonwillow!
