Fast Fridays 2014, Part 1

,

At first glance, this E46 M3 is a very subtle-looking car both inside and out, and several people will not even notice the black-out intercooler core.  But if you start to look around, several aftermarket parts come alive.  Take the trick AEM gauge setup on the steering wheel, telling the driver the real-time boost and AFR readings, for instance.

Or how about the Racelogic traction control dial so it can help the driver put the power down to maximize the grip from its Nitto tires.  Each click to the left provides more wheel slip, but be careful because this car’s dual VANOS, turbocharged torque, will break them tires sideways at 70mph like nobody’s business.  I’ve experienced it first hand.  Had I not gotten off the throttle we would have pitched 90 degrees to the right!

Stay tuned for more on this M3.  We have parts sitting the garage that should take its performance to the next level!  In fact, Trey, the UPS man, showed up with more parts while I was writing this article.

As cars roll in, several will audibly announce their arrivals with a cop-attracting throttle blip.

AMGs, Porsches, Lamborghinis and Ferraris.  What’s not to like!

Our own Project Supra was welcomed warmly upon arrival.  “Look, you see there, Honey?  That is a turbo.  It’s not a little button like you thought.”
