Welcome to the machine floor. MTI's Marietta, GA location has not one, but four CNC machines capable of making just about anything from metal. One of the techs quipped “if it's metal, we can cut it.” They aren't kidding.
Meet the Haas VF 3SSYT. This CNC features a 40”x26”x25” chamber, 24+1 automated changeable tool heads, a 12,000RPM motor, and can do just about anything you can imagine. MSRP starts at $87,995, and, while slightly smaller, MTI Racing has 3 other Haas Machines. And Sunnen borers and honers and balancers. And a Serdi valve cutter. And that's just what they have at the MTI Racing facility. MTI Racing is also partnered with MTI Machine and Ernie Elliott Inc, bringing the total number of fancy CNCs to nine, along with countless other pieces of high-dollar machining equipment. MTI is serious about “cutting metal”, as they say.
Here is an example of MTI’s in-house machine work, along with the final product for reference. These are spring perches for the coilover kits that MTI manufactures, based on either Bilstein or Penske multi-adjustable racing shocks. More on that later.
Another example of MTI's machine work, here is a pile of seat rails and brackets, ready to be shipped to customers worldwide. MTI pays attention to every detail, and these rails even have pre-drilled holes for C5 and C6 factory yaw sensors – which you need to keep if you don't want the factory ECUs to go crazy. OK, MTI may send the parts out for laser etching and anodizing, but they don't rely on outside vendors for much else. That being said, who relies on MTI?
