Japanese Classic Car Show: The Pristine, Eclectic, and Perhaps a Tad Bit Psychotic
Living in Long Beach, California has its perks. I can literally get to some of the best automotive events in the state within a ten minute drive to downtown. Never mind the drive-by shooting that rendered someone dead less than 50 yards from my house a while back. Who cares about personal safety when you’ve got Formula D and Long Beach Grand Prix at your doorstep? OK, so maybe those two events don’t quite justify worrying about stray bullets and sleeping in a Kevlar vest at night. Throw in some of the smaller, niche events like Toyota Fest and Japanese Classic Car Show though and maybe it’s worthwhile… surely only for a gear head.
As usual, the Japanese Classic Car Show didn’t disappoint this year. There was a good share of Japanese classics in pristine condition like this Z car.
One of my favorite parts about the Japanese Classic Car Show is checking out the wicked engine swaps some of these nut-bag owners come up with. RB26DETT in a S12, why not? This is tame compared to the other swaps on site though. We’ll get to those later.
