SPA Technique fire system FireSense
Along with the safety of the 10-point cage, harnesses, etc., one of the biggest parts of driver safety is a properly working fire system that can buy the driver enough time to get out of Dodge if things go really wrong. SPA Technique makes some of the best systems in the business, and their Fire Sense system conforms to all the latest FIA regulations for competition use.
BMW drift car rear-mounted radiator
A better view of the rear bulkhead area with its custom rear-mount CBR stainless steel heat exchanger/radiator, radiator tubing and rear firewall. Why have a rear-mounted radiator, you ask? The placement not only gives better weight distribution, it also keeps the cooling system safe from the almost-unavoidable impacts that are bound to happen at the front end. Plus, the numerous NACA ducts on the windows and rear roof line ensure a lot of cooling air makes it’s way into the cabin.
Drift car passenger seat radiator tubing
The passenger side looks like a fun place to enjoy some good sideways demo rides, and you can get a good view of the custom radiator tubing that makes its way under the passenger seat. Probably nice on a cool California morning, but not sure I’d want to sit there for more than a few minutes when everything’s up to temperature.

Another view of the rear radiator setup.
BMW drift car trunk fuel cell tube chassis
Plenty of magic happening in the trunk area, and a great time to point out the fact that the car has a front and rear tubed chassis. The Castro Motorsports custom fabricated fuel cell enlosure, rear firewall, radiator setup and every other custom bit on the car looks hardcore and purpose-built. The dual puller fans help extract the heat from the radiator, and custom trunk vents give more than adequate are for full heat evacuation.
E36 tubed chassis
Proof that nothing much in the back of this M3 is the same as a street car, let along typical track car. In fact, from the in-trunk view, you’d be hard pressed to figure out what car you’re looking at, aside from being something with serious intentions.
