MPTCC ’14 Round 2: Spring Mountain

,

After the race Edik wasted no time to start helping his fellow Integra driver figure out his over heating issues. Even at very low levels of boost, turbocharging a road racing car takes a little longer to develop as the heat generated by the turbo can cause havoc on other key systems in the car.
In an effort to keep under hood temps down Patris decided to remove his hood for Sunday's race. Yes this would reduce flow to the front mount intercooler and radiator, but Patris was ready to try anything in order to finish the next race. Justin was now only 3 points behind him so he needed to score some points on Sunday in order to retain his second place position.
The Rockstar Garage S2000 performed flawlessly in its 2014 MPTCC race debut. Now Justin needed to make sure he took full advantage of Sunday's practice and qualifying sessions in order to try to find the two seconds he was behind Edik.
This was the unfortunate site in the MotoIQ pits. Turns out the #37 developed another oil leak and slowly leaked till the sump ran dry. Being hundreds of miles away from home this meant the weekend was over. To add insult to injury, I was one lap short of completing half the race laps which meant team MotoIQ would not be collecting any championship points this weekend. A real shame considering all that we went through just to field a car at Spring Mountain. Oh well, that's racing.
So after a bad first day for team MotoIQ it was time for a little pick-me-up. And what better place to do that than Sin City! Since we knew we were going to have a relatively easy day on Sunday, it was time to hit the town….and the buffet!
