My Girlfriend’s Miata: Part 1 – Flyin’ Miata Frame Rail Reinforcement Kit

,

First, we measured the chassis at two points on the passenger side, with the opposite side supported by two jack stands. The near side was supported by a jack, at a single point in front of the rear tire. The first measurement was taken right in front of the jack and the second was on the frame rail right behind the front tire. The goal was to see if there was a difference in chassis flex before and after the install.
With the rear of the car jacked to 12″ off the ground, the front was measured at just under 12.25.” One thing to keep in mind is that the ground wasn't level, so we were just looking for a difference before and after. The car was kept in the same position throughout the install.
Next we started removing the interior so we wouldn't drill holes through the carpet when installing the kit. Start by unscrewing the sill panels.
