Nerd’s Eye View: Ducati 1199 Panigale

,

Just before the mufflers is a very nice and smooth looking flow split.  It looks like it flows pretty well for minimum restriction.

The exhaust from the backside cylinder wraps around under the seat.  It needs the length to be equal length with the pipe coming from the front cylinder.  Notice the slip-joint with springs, race-type stuff right there.  On the right, you can see the spring on the rod for the rear brake cylinder; this should provide good pressure resistance so as to help avoid just mashing the rear brake and locking up the rear.

Ducati’s are known for the single-sided swing-arms.  The super sticky beefy rear tire is a 200/55/17 Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP mounted on an Enkei wheel (you can see the Enkei label at the 9 o’clock position).

The rear Brembo brake caliper is mounted down low on the underside of the swing-arm.  Next to is the wheel speed sensor that reads off the toothed wheel.
