Nerd’s Eye View: Mazdaspeed Mazda 767B

,

The 767B has a very small footbox that is elevated off the main floor pan angling the driver's legs above parallel from the seat much like an F1 car. Inside the box where the driver rest his heels likely contains the brake and clutch master cylinders.
The shifter for the 767B's transaxle is mounted on the right-hand side of the tub and angled towards the driver for easier access. This gives a good idea of just how cozy it is inside the cockpit when the doors are closed if the driver is sitting just right of the car's centerline and the shifter is practically on the right door.

A central fire suppression system is a must in any true race car….and apparently so are random switches with no labels. It is honestly surprising how many zip-ties were used to mount various parts to the 767B.
Check out the dedicated rear brake duct snorkels that are poking through the top of the rear body work and that transaxle cooler duct we were discussing earlier. It's also hard not to notice Mad Mike Whiddet's MADBUL Formula Drift car, another 4-rotor powered race car, sitting next to the 767B.
The front brake ducts are a little less conspicuous than the rears, but are no less dedicated to the brakes they serve.
