Performance Racing Industry 2014: Part 1

,

How do they make these pumps flow more, you ask?  By making the gear sizes longer and shorter, the wear plates get thinner and thinner, thus providing more flow.

Here’s a shot of some of those gears I’m talking about above.  These pumps use four gear sets.

In the Motovicity booth stood an unassuming Chevrolet Camaro.

I almost walked right by it without even noticing what was under the hood.  But I was impressed with a large, twin Garrett turbo setup with twin TiAL wastegates, and nice tubular manifolds with four-into-one collectors.  1000whp anyone?

Before leaving you from our Part 1 of PRI 2014 coverage, let us plant in your brain this image.  To the left is a Lotus F1 steering wheel and a sports car racing steering wheel on the right.  To be honest, I didn't take this photo.  When I saw Nick post it on Instagram I begged him for the photo, frustrated at the fact that I'd missed the Cosworth booth. What was I thinking!?

If you enjoyed our Part 1 coverage of the PRI 2014 show, you’re going to love PART 2 and PART 3!  Stay tuned…
