A MA Performance fully ported intake manifold and Injector Dynamics injectors are used on the intake side of the 4G63 engine.

A used Greddy V-Spec Tube and Fin Intercooler was chosen for its light weight. A tube and fin intercooler tends to be lighter overall than a bar and plate of the same exterior dimensions. Greddy’s intercooler core has an inner “Micro Grove Tube” which gives good cooling and freer flowing design. The intercooler was chosen based on the online advice of Eric Hsu, that tube and fin intercoolers tend to be better for road course applications. Lighter than a bar and plate intercooler and offering more airflow to the radiator, the cheap used intercooler has done the job respectably.

A billet Blox Racing front engine mount helps control engine movement which results in more positive shift action and better throttle response. Made from billet aluminum and using a 90A durometer bushing, Blox Racing’s front engine mount is lighter in weight than the factory mount.

A used Greddy V-Spec tube and fin intercooler cools the intake charge while not impeding airlflow to the engine and not weighing an excessive amount.

To improve ignition reliability with E85 a Spoolin’ Up Coil on Plug Ignition is used on the EVO. Spooling up uses all stainless steel fasteners, aluminum spacers, carbon fiber mounting plates, each coil is wired individually with military grade Tefzel Teflon wire, 465ยบ F high temperature silicone coated fiberglass sleeve and the harness is waterproof.  A larger than stock plug gap is used with no misfire issues.

To keep track of air fuel ratios a Zeitronix ZT-2 Wideband Controller watches over things. The ZT-2 allows datalogging of air/fuel ratios, boost pressure, rpm and throttle position at 74hz. This allows for accurate and reliable tuning and helps ensure the engine is in a good state of tune during competition. The ZT-2 unit is integrated with EvoScan making tuning a snap.

The filter on the APS intake is really far away from the MAF.  You can barely see the front Cusco swaybar in the lower corner of the picture.  You can also see the honeycomb Alumalite splitter and belly pan material.

For reliability the stock timing and balance shaft belts were replaced with Gates Racing Kevlar units. Gates Racing Performance Timing Belts are 300% stronger than stock belts while delivering up to three times the heat resistance.

The Professional Awesome EVO does more with less.  It has less power than its competitors, up to 100 hp less but it still lays down the lap times!
