The suspension and chassis is just as important as the engine in Time Attack.  Coilovers are the heart of any performance suspension system and the Professional Awesome EVO uses some of the best, KW Motorsport 2-Way Adjustable Coilovers.  The KW Motorsport 2-Ways are identical to Clubsport units except they use a zinc plated steel body instead of a stainless steel body.  Stainless steel is highly corrosion resistant and the best choice for a street system but regular steel conducts heat 50% better so it’s a good choice for race applications.

KW Motorsport 2-Way dampers are the heart of the PA Evo’s suspension system.

Cusco Front and Rear Sway Bars are used. The front Cusco bar is a non-adjustable, 25mm solid bar which is 123% stiffer than OEM. The rear is a triple adjustable, 23mm solid part and is adjustable at 103/115/125% stiffer than stock.  The team generally runs the bar at 125% stiffer than stock.

A Whiteline Steering Precision Kit is used to improve the steering feel and response while reducing understeer. This is achieved through the use of replacement steering rack mounting bushings.  A Whiteline Roll Center Kit is used to raise the roll center using longer ball-joints and tie rod ends while maintaining the original steering geometry. This results in less roll and keeps the camber curve from leaning positive.

The Perrin Positive Steering Response System or PSRS replaces the huge ultra-soft OEM front control arm rear bushing. This bushing has enough flex that in can deflect up to .3″ under braking. The PSRS also adds an additional 1.5ยบ of caster. The PSRS replacement of the big, squishy OEM bushing with a solidly mounted spherical bearing makes a big difference, especially under braking. This positive change in handling surprisingly had no added NVH.

Perrin Rear Sway Bar End Links replaced the stock parts. These are constructed of 6061 Billet Aluminum Rod stock with aircraft quality rod ends to give the strongest connection between the rear sway bar and the control arm. These are adjustable in length from 7″ to 5.75″ to ensure all preload in the sway bar is dialed out.

Long ARP studs keep the wheels secure and allow tuning with spacers.

AMS Delrin Rear Trailing Arm Bushings eliminate toe changes due to movement of the rear trailing arms. They are produced from Delrin due to its superior toughness and stiffness combined with reduced wear and friction.Professionally Awesome- A look inside Professional Awesome's EVO VIII Street Class Time Attack Challenger
