Project Autocross BRZ: Getting a Little Louder with the ARK Design Racing Spec Exhaust

,

Honestly, I was somewhat worried once it arrived that this exhaust might be too loud based on the looks alone. However, I was surprised to find that its sound level was acceptable to most ears in that at lower rpms it is not much louder than a traditional chambered exhaust system. Cruising speed noise levels were not that bad. What must also be considered is that this system is connected to a very high flow catted front pipe and equal length header. Those items alone add a bit of sound to any system.

For those just looking for an idea of what this sounds like with the Ark Design Racing SPEC Single Exhaust mated to the Nameless Performance 3 inch catted and Helmholtz resonated front pipe/ overpipe to the Nameless Performance equal length header.
Our first SCCA autocross event with this setup in car audio (video) of the ARK Single exit exhaust. It did also pass sound with ease.

The ARK Design exhaust system is a great lightweight option (roughly 19lbs) for anyone looking for a quality single exit performance cat back system. The fitment is perfect and the exhaust looks super aggressive on the car. I am really quite surprised this system isn’t seen more often installed on the BRZ/FR-S/GT86.
