Project C7 Corvette Stingray Z51: Drivetrain Improvements

,

The plugs for the mufflers’ stepper motors were removed and then the mufflers slipped out of the rubber hangers.

Now the mufflers and their short tailpipe sections could be removed.

Now to remove the torque tube. The entire rear subframe and transaxle have to come out of the car.  This is the same procedure for doing a clutch job. A clutch job for a C7 is gonna be a pretty penny compared to other cars!

First, the bolts holding the torque tube to the bellhousing were removed.

The torque tube to bellhousing bolts are out.

Then the subframe bolts are loosened after disconnecting all wiring and plumbing to the brakes and transaxle.
