Project FR-S- Getting Torque Everywhere with an Innovate Motorsports Supercharger

,

With the manifold off, some of the hoses are switched to longer ones for the supercharger kit.  The hoses supplied with the kit are all high quality and are covered with an abrasion resistant jacket.

The hoses are now all in place and ready to be hooked up to the new supercharger intake manifold.

The mounting tab on the alternator has to be ground down a little bit for clearance.  This is super easy and can be done with a hand file just as easily as a belt sander.

The MAP sensor is reinstalled on the intake manifold plenum.

O-Ring seals are installed on the intake runners.  The blower is now ready to be dropped in,
During the kit's development phase, the engine bay was digitized and the supercharger intake manifold was created in CAD from this data and from digital data of the stock intake manifold.  The CAD design was transferred into this plastic mock up of the manifold created with stereo lithography also commonly known as a 3D printer.  The model is strong enough to be actually installed and even run on the engine.  Several iterations of the designed were tried before the final design was approved and expensive tooling was made.  This is the main reason why this kit is so easy to install!

Lowering the blower in place is perhaps the hardest part of the install.  You have to be careful not to pinch hoses or wires.  It helps to have someone handy to help guide the blower in place.  Seriously, this is one of the easiest installs of a major part we have yet to encounter.  It can easily be done in one day and if you are good at working on cars, as little as two hours.  Installing the Innovate Motorsports supercharger kit is easier than installing injectors on an STI for example!
