The block-off plates look pretty cool and no more dangling side markers!
Next, it was time to install the Verus Engineering wheel well air deflectors. These help reduce the amount of air entering the wheel wells and reduce the CFD hotspot typically seen near where the tread of the tires hits the ground. This both reduces drag and reduces the pressure in the wheel wells. Normally the deflector bolt to factory holes in the front of the wheel well but our splitter covers those so we drilled new mounting holes in the splitter.
We bolted the deflectors directly to the splitter.
Here are the deflectors in place. All was good until we tried to drive the car down the driveway and the deflectors were so low they were instantly destroyed, duh. We made some replicas out of angle aluminum that were not as tall and bolted those in. We will probably make a flexible plastic skirt for them and show you that later.
