Project Honda Civic EJ: Skunk2 Suspension Upgrades Part 2

Project Honda CIvic EJ Skunk2 Rear Camber Kit

Like the front camber kit, the rear adjustable upper control arm pushes out the trailing arm assembly to reduce the amount of negative camber created when lowering the car. The Skunk2 rear camber kit is comprised of two parts,  the center adjuster is made of forged alloy steel with reversed threads and jam nuts.  This makes it easy to adjust. All you need to do is loosen the jam nuts and turn the easy to grip knurled center section.  This beats the usual process of unbolting the ends and unscrewing them, making adjustment easier and  faster.

The ends of the adjusters are forged from high strength 7075 aluminum, and contain hard low flex urethane bushings.  Note that unlike most other rear camber kits, the ends are a strong forged single piece design instead of  a threaded section butt welded to a steel tube like our old parts.  This is much stronger.

Next on the list are the rear lower control arms. Although the Skunk2 lower control arms maintain OEM suspension geometry, there are a few benefits to these arms that make the switch worthwhile. As you can see from the picture above, the Skunk2 lower control arms are made of forged and CNC machined 2024 alloy aluminum and are significantly thicker and more rigid that the stamped steel OEM arms.  This reduces the amount of bending and flexing that could occur while still being lighter in weight.
