The Skunk 2 bushings are replaceable and serviceable.

Another plus to the Skunk2 design are their bushings – like their camber kit, these bushings are free rotating polyurethane inserts that can be replaced if necessary. On the other hand, most of the other designs out there use molded in bushings which are not free moving, and also makes them prone to binding, cracking and tearing. In the event that one of these bushings DOES tear, you would have to go buy a whole new control arm.

What makes The Skunk 2 lower control arms different from the other lower control arms we shopped around for? Three extra little holes in their design which allows for sway bar lower link adjustments.  The adjustment holes allow you to keep your end links in a more vertical position as you adjust them with an adjustable rear bar.  This can greatly improve the bar's effectiveness.  In our case, the Skunk 2 lower arms will let us get the most out of the ASR adjustable sway bar that we are planning to use and cover in a later article.

Unlike OEM arms that are made from stamped steel, Skunk2's rear lower control arms are CNC machined from 2024 billet aluminum, making them 25% lighter than their OEM counterparts.

 

 

 

As you progressively improve your driving skills at the track, the ability to fine tune your suspension settings can make all the difference in the world, potentially shaving seconds off your lap times. There are three adjustments that I feel are the most important while you're at the track, since they are the ones that are most easily adjustable on the spot. Those three adjustments are rebound damping adjustment on the shocks, tire pressures, and sway bar adjustments.
