Finally, a superfine grade of wet-dry paper is used by hand to get into all the contours of the lip and to feather edge the original paint so the blend line won’t be visible.
The wheel’s lip is then degreased with some solvent to remove anything like tire dressing residue that could cause fish eyes or the paint to flake off.
Now the wheel is ready for finishing.
Pinstriping tape is used for the initial masking.
