Revenge of the Nerd – The Consultant, Helping Fast GT-R’s go Even Faster!

A GT-R is a true flat bottomed car and as a result is a pain the the ass to jack up!  Check out the real functional carbon fiber diffuser all stock!

 

Big 15″ Brembo brakes with floating 2-piece rotors and six piston calipers are completely stock! 2012 and later GT-R's come with even bigger 15.4″ rotors.  Amazing as typical big brake upgrade kits are 14″.  You need big brakes to stop 3800 lbs from high speeds.

 

The amazing KW Suspension 3-Way adjustable Clubsport shocks are superbly flexible.  They can be set for street comfort to drag race launch to laps around the Nurburgring.  The high and low speed compression damping can be set by turning these knobs on the bottom of the remote reservoirs.  Easily adjustable damping is important for suspension tuners as it really speeds dialing in a chassis.  The 3-Way Clubsports were designed to be one of the most inexpensive, quality 3 way adjustable shocks on the market being quite a bit cheaper than the exotic Motorsports Dampers.

 

The rebound damping is adjusted at the top of the shock by turning an allen slot in the shock shaft.  Again, easily accessible and easily adjustable.  KW will be launching other 3 Way Clubsport applications this year for other cars.  The huge adjustment range of the KW's allowed us to really increase bite, dropping the 60 foot times, reducing wheelhop and keeping the car stable on the big end.

 

SPL Parts provided adjustable links for camber and rear toe.  SPL bearings also replaced the stock rubber parts in the spindles.  Getting rid of the rubber will help reduce flex and wheel hop that drag GT-R's experience.  Before we got to the track, the crew set the alignment to our specs so all we had to do was turn knobs!

 

Back on the ground, things were torqued down.
