Sebring 2013: The Following

,

A long walk later, and turn 17 offers viewing spots from the outside and inside of the track, Where you can watch the cars bounce a little as they hit a bump in the middle of the turn and then take off to Start/Finish. The Porsche and Corvette corals are on the outside of 17, letting you look at a timeline of sports cars through the years.

The final ALMS race started with the echo of the petrol cars running down to 17 and up the front straight, with the first Audi blowing by well ahead of the field with nothing but a whisper. Within a few laps, it was clear the Audis would be racing well ahead of the competition, leaving the battle for 3rd to Muscle Milk, Rebellion, Dyson, or the Delta Wing.

This could be the last chance we get to see P1s at Sebring for a while, and everyone was treated to Audi's battling each other, and good preview of the Rebellion, Muscle Milk, and Dyson battle we can expect the rest of the season. P2 provided just as good a race, and getting to see David Brabham behind the wheel was a great treat.

Every class had incredibly talented drivers and all-star lineups. The PC and GTC challenge classes have a strong mix of pro and amateur drivers that provide more excitement than ever, but I think the most exciting and unexpected part of this year’s race was the GTE class.
