Sneak Peek: Mike Essa and GSR Autosport’s E46 Build

More bars in the cage structure up top to protect grey matter.  All of this is the handiwork of GSR Autosport of course.

More and more bars in the cage structure to provide the all-important survival cell around the driver.  There were definitely a few hard crashes last year in FD along with a car that ended up on its roof; the cage regulations have evolved in light of these crashes to mandate greater safety for the drivers.  A Sparco seat and belts keeps Essa firmly in place during any possible unintended collisions.

A DTM Fiberwerkz body kit covers the pushed-out tires.  The vented hood aids in cooling.

That’s it for the sneak peek at Essa’s E46.  We should see the fully built car at Long Beach soon. I can’t wait to see what this new twin-scroll GTX3582R setup can do.  It’ll also be interesting to see how quickly Essa can adapt to a new chassis, new suspension and new tire setup.  That’s a whole lotta ‘new’ to get up to speed on!  While I was at GSR Autosport, I snapped some pictures of other awesomeness on the premises.

If you didn’t know, Essa is an accomplished road racer too.  This is his 911 race car which gets taken out once in a while.

Essa knows how to weld and started up on this two-wheeled project.
