The Cars of Knox Mountain Hill Climb

,

As there were no cars entered in SPX-1, we'll jump right to Sheridan Empey's immaculate #15 Honda CRX that ran the course in 1:57.840 for a fantastic first in class finish.

Coming in second was a mirror image of the #15 car as the #49 Honda Civic, owned, built and driven by Tyson Kaempffer, finished the course with a 2:06.728. Tyler and I met when he got his CRX tuned at AES Auto, and he gave me some good suggestions to prepare for the hill climb. Third place went to Richard Arienzale with an amazing time in his #28 Dodge Neon with a 2.4 litre engine swap and a time of 2:12.007.

In SPX-3 was this beautiful 1971 Camaro Z28 with a twin turbo setup. It was a beautiful looking and sounding beast that Mark Dimmock piloted to a class win with a time of 2:02.170. I wonder what it would do if he had the boost turned up!

Second place went to yours truly, Frank Ewald, in the 1992 Nissan NX 1600 that is often referred to as the NX GTi-R, with a time of 2:08.533. Greg Petroski captured third with the #99 Subaru Impreza with a 2:13.931.

Leaving the Street Prepared class and moving on to the Sport Racers, Jay Esterer captured 1st place in the SR class in his #91 Radical SR3. His time was 1:53.790.

Second place went to John Edwards in his #27 STi powered 2003 Diasio 962 purpose built sports racer with a time of 1:55.322. Third place went to another Radical SR3 as Jeff Taylor brought home the #176 car with a 1:58.784 time.
