JRZ 3-way adjustable dampers provide control for the car's suspension. Hyperco springs and tender springs are used. You can also see suspension position transducers here! |
The front suspension uses a custom fabricated AQMS antilift kit. This reduces the amount of anti dive/ pro-lift and increases positive caster in the front end geometry, greatly improving handling. A Whiteline adjustable front antiswaybar is used with a Ray Cunningham/Kaminari front roll center and camber curve fixing, bumpsteer eliminating kit. Whiteline and Kartboy urethane bushings are used throughout the suspension. JC handles the corner balancing and alignment himself while JRZ North America and Peter Leclair from Hellafunctional handle trackside support for suspension tuning.
The camber/caster adjuster plate is shown here as is the shock's rebound adjuster. |
Braking is also very critical and the Subaru has some of the best stoppers money can buy. Stoptech Trophy brakes are used with full floating 14″ front and 13″ rear rotors with 6 piston front and 4 piston rear CNC lightened Trophy calipers. The stock master cylinder, DCCD and ABS systems are retained since the well balanced Stoptech system is completely compatible with them. Stoptech braided steel brake lines and Carbon Lorraine Brake Pads are used with Motul 660 brake fluid.
The remote reservoirs have the high and low speed compression damping on the ends of the cannister. |
Huge Toyo 888 tires in 295/30-18 on Enkei NTO3+1 rims in 18×10.5 with a 30mm offset are used as ultra grippy rolling stock. The Enkei wheels use MAT technology which is a roll forging process that refines the grain structure and strengthens the material in the rim area. This makes for a stronger and lighter wheel this is still decently priced. To accommodate the wide wheel-tire combo, Raceon USA fender flares from a 240SX are modified to fit and the front wheel wells are tubbed. The frame rails are also notched for clearance.
To fit the huge 295 tires, the wheelwells are tubbed and the frame rails are notched. This allows the scrub radius to be kept under control. |
The Cusco and Kaminari adjustable links and the AQMS rear swaybar allow for full adjustability of the suspension. |
The Stoptech Trophy brake system is matched to the stock hydraulic and ABS system with perfect proportioning . |
The Trophy calipers are 6 piston front and 4 piston rear forged aluminum. They are shape optimized with excess material being CNC machined away for less weight. The front rotors are 14″ and the rear 13″ both full floating. |
The big 18×10.5″ MAT formed Enkei NT03+1 wheels are strong, stiff and light. |
