64 Corvette: 2015 Edition!

When the 327 was replaced by the LS3, the original powerglide transmission was replaced with a 4L65 with a Stage 2 shift kit and a 2800 stall converter. This transmission is quite beefy and, through GM Performance, is tailored to performance vehicles like this Corvette. A custom driveshaft was required. It was built just down the street at Delta Springs – a heavy duty truck shop that takes on custom projects like this. The rear diff is an OEM C3 unit with 3.73 gears and an Auburn Gear performance differential.
The side pipes look and sound awesome. They were fabricated in house and despite that there was a flaw. They caused too much restrictionwhich reduced the power output, so electronically actuated cutouts were added between the header's collectors and the side pipes.
The exhaust openings in the frame cross member were put to good use as a location for the exhaust cutout pipes. When the cutouts are opened, exhaust flows through the side pipes and any restriction is now removed by the cutouts. There will absolutely be a rumble in the neighborhood when these are opened.
Sitting on the dyno, you can see the Z06 external oil cooler sitting just in front of the radiator.

The Sting Ray is effectively strapped down for it's dyno run on the Dynojet.
