ChumpCar at the Glen

The team is ready to climb the wall to switch drivers and replenish the fuel tank. Clean windshield, check air pressues, check oil level, and – within five minutes – be back on the way. The car must come to a complete stop before anyone is over the wall. No one can work on the car while it's being fueled, but the driver change may take place. Full fire gear must be worn by everyone over the wall while fueling. Ignition off and, of course, no smoking! In the pit area, period.
Catch can in place for any spillage, fuel is poured in quickly and carefully.
Here's a closeup of the infamous bus stop. I was pleased with the speed I was carrying through the bus stop – but have learned that I can carry even more. I have to go back and try! There is simply nothing like a Jaguar!
Endurance racing is hard on equipment. There's no question that we got our money out of these brake pads – which had been used prior to Friday and Saturday's event. Rob was braking with less than a millimetre of pad material. Honestly, it was metal on metal. Saturday night the Civic got new pads, calipers, rotors, and lower tie rods to ensure it was ready to go on Sunday.
The last lap of the race is a highlight – everyone over to the track wall to cheer on all of the cars and drivers.
