Dasilva Motorsports: They Do It All!

,

This 2013 Camaro ZL1 put down 645 horsepower at the rear wheels. It has headers, LPE pulleys, ported and polished, and a custom Dasilva cam.

This Hennessy Viper had a few issues that were frustrating the owner. Dasilva Motorsports took it on, did the diagnostic work, and found the issues.  They also saw that it needed an engine rebuild which was completed at the shop last year. Now it is making more power than ever, which obviously made for a very pleased owner.

Here's a 2012 ZR1 with an LPE 710 kit. Some very respectable numbers.

Manny and I first met at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. He's a great driver and a very personable shop owner. Manny, Dave, Gavin, Greg and Jay know their stuff and Dasilva Motorsports has got to be on your short list for performance shops. If you're looking for tuning, resident expert Arun is widely respected on both sides of the border. Your car will be taken care of it like it is their own.

Manny started working on his own Corvette years ago. The work he did on his car was so impressive that friends and acquaintances asked him to help them out. It did not take long before this hobby took over his residential garage. So Manny, after careful consideration, took the calculated risk of opening the shop in 2012. Multiple bays and the dyno meant a huge change – including leaving his profession to go out on his own. It also meant that his wife did not have to carry groceries through the maze of Corvettes that were usually parked in front of his shop, ummm, their house. Mind you, a driveway and garage full of Vettes really does not sound like a problem!

The team is very qualified to handle whatever project presents itself. Dave is not only a Class A Red Seal mechanic, he is Manny's shop manager and right hand. Gavin and Greg are both Class A mechanics, and Jay is working his way to get those papers. They make up a great team. Arun comes in for the tuning when it is required. In 2014 the shop expanded into space that allows an additional half dozen cars to be housed. Space is needed because a restomod takes up a lot of time and they can have up to six big builds on the go at any given time. There is enough room in the shop that a project vehicle never needs to be moved outside as they have enough square footage to move and manipulate the cars within the shop's floorspace.  There is always a bay open for the client or individual off the street who has an afternoon project. And the door is always open for the client who wants to see if Dasilva is the shop for them. I swiped this quote from the shop's website, because I think it sums things up perfectly.

Alongside an obsession with making cars go faster by any means necessary spanning over 15 years, Manny suffers from what’s best described as a compulsive attention to detail bordering on a mild case of O.C.D. As a result you may rest assured that your car will be treated better than some of your children whilst in his keep.”

What more needs to be said!

This. While Manny was previewing the article prior to final editing, I had the chance to see behind the counter where there was lots of technology going on here. Just past Manny you'll note the sophisticated video monitoring system. After hours the contents of the shop are watched as closely as they are during the day. Good to know.
