Dasilva Motorsports: They Do It All!

,

The first thing we saw as we walked towards the shop was this beautiful Chevelle SS. So clean and it just looks powerful – even sitting parked. The body is in great shape and the lines are incredible.
Dasilva Motorsport hasn't touched the engine in the Chevelle yet. It's in for some drive train enhancements. The engine and engine bay are spotless.

The black 1970 Chevelle SS has a 396 ci engine and that is not going to be touched. It is in the shop as it will be undergoing a 3 speed automatic to 4 speed automatic upgrade. The transmission will also have a stage 2 shift kit for more holding power. This change also requires a new drive shaft. The rear end gears will likely be swapped for a 3.73 setup. While all of this is going on it will also be receiving a header back exhaust that will be a three inch, dual, polished stainless steel, system that will be custom made at Dasilva Motorsports.

What a classic automobile. After enjoying the Chevelle SS, you look beyond it and every where you look are sports cars. Literally, all you can see is cars… and when you peer around corners there are even more.
There's a Z51 on the hoist with a Z06 beside it. A  60's Chevelle SuperStock  is under the Z06. In the background an Oldsmobile Cutlass that will surely bring back memories. It's parked beside a Corvette convertible. But immediately in my path was  the brilliant blue 69 Pro Touring Camaro. The Camaro was a rolling chassis that arrived at the shop. It's in for a complete drivetrain. The client did the chasis, suspension, and body.

My eyes were next drawn to the stunning blue '69 Pro Touring Camaro. It was a rolling chasis when it arrived at Manny's shop. No longer a rolling chassis, the engine bay is now home to an amazing LS7. This engine has been fully built with forged internals, custom cam, custom head – ported and valve guide upgrade and exhaust valve upgrade. It has an Edlebrock eForce supercharger with Dasilva's custom pulley setup. Power is transmitted to the ground through a Magnum T56 transmission. It has meth injection, headers, lots of customization, PCI engine harness (Performance System Integration). It has a factory Z06 pcm, which caused me to ask why. I just assumed with so much work done that it would be aftermarket, however, I learned that the Z06 PCM's tunability is as good as aftermarket while having no driveability issues.  When the car is ready to go on the dyno they are aiming for 650 at the wheels and torque levels of about 700 lb ft. Obviously, these are just estimates. Since the time of the Open House the LS7 has been fired up for the first time.

Even at this stage, you can see that this car is going to be a show winner.
