Dasilva Motorsports: They Do It All!

,

How many shops will allow you in to see a project in process, let alone more than a dozen? And not just you, but the doors are open to all who are interested. Since opening in 2012, Open Houses in the winter and car shows in the summer have been part of the Dasilva philosophy. Allow the community to see the work in progress. Manny takes advantage of FaceBook and Internet forums to ensure that their work is showcased.
A visit a few days after the Open House and a lot of changes already. Including the removal of the C3's nose to see just what lay ahead of the team.
Yes it is! Another Chevelle SuperSport – this time a 1967. It had a 396ci in it but that was quickly set aside. The owner had other plans for this SS beauty which Dasilva Motorsports recently found in the Southern States.
Notice that tag on the valve cover – 405/427. Chevrolet built 427 of these 427ci crate monsters – a rare, numbered engine. The owner has had it for several years, sitting in the crate, just waiting until the right car came along. The Chevelle SS is that car! That is a passionate car guy!
In addition to the 427 crate engine, plans include coilovers, Wilwood brakes on all four corners, HRE wheels, Magnum T56 transmission, full interior rebuild, and new paint. If you're thinking that paint looks pretty good, please realize that the body work hasn't even started yet. It's going to be awesome.
