Dasilva Motorsports: They Do It All!

,

One week later and the SuperSport was already looking significantly different too.
I don't know if I remember SuperSport's from 1967 – I was eight – or as a teenager. Whenever it was, this was a logo to remember.
Where would any shop be without tons of storage space, bins, and lots of masking tape for labels. Crucial!
Don't be mistaken. While some of these cars may spend time cruising and being best of show, there's an incredible performance focus also. Here Manny Dasilva is taking his friend and client's Cadillac CTS-V through it's paces at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Heading through Moss Corner and onto Andretti Straight at what was formerly known as Mosport. Pic by Richard Wintle.

This CTS-V received a wrap as it was the centre piece at a show that the team attended. This car has received significant work under the hood in the form of a supercharger, pulley upgrade, injectors, tune (Arun is referred to on the forums as Canada's best LS tuner. That is street cred.), custom cam, headers, exhaust (including a cutout to take it from civil to track demon in moments), and the transmission was beefed up to handle the power. New rims and tires rounded out the package.

This 2008 Z06 is immaculate. It puts down 975 HP at the wheels. Unfortunately, when I got home I found that I only had one workable picture of this beautiful car. It has a fully built engine with forged internals, cutsom cam, custom headwork, meth injection, headers, and full exhaust.  The mufflers have been customized to allow even better flow so, when combined with the Z06 factory exhaust bypass switch, you have a really sweet sound. Combined with a YSI supercharger and a stage 2 ZR1 clutch, you can see where that 975 rwhp comes from.

The dyno chart was't visible at the Open House, but as I know my audience well (you'd be asking to see evidence), I asked Manny and Dave for a copy. The horsepower is awesome, but look at that torque curve!

Here's the car getting tuned on the Dyno – with a run at about 1:30.
