Dasilva Motorsports: They Do It All!

,

This shot provides a better view of the coilovers, the transmission, and the exhaust. It's not a perfect flat bottom treatment, but the factory is certainly getting close.

This work in progress shows the coil overs, the upgrade to Z06 brakes – this was done at the rear also – and the final touch was the paint was completely refinished. Another beautiful automobile.

Here we have a 2007 convertible. You probably already guessed that it has headers and a custom exhaust. After all, that's where most of us start. It has a wide-body kit with ZR1 front and rear quarter panels. To make it stand out even more, entry and exit is through Lambo style doors.

The crowning touches are the ZR1 hood to provide a window into the engine bay and the TVS 2300 supercharger, showing that this Corvette has more than enough under the hood. Fitting the ZR1 hood took a fair amount of fabrication to make it look and have this factory fit.

When I enquired about fabrication, Manny pointed out that many supercharged Corvettes have a large scoop or hump to allow for the equipment. Dasilva Motorsports actually lowers the engine in the cradle (Wait, I was expecting the fabrication to be with the hood or the latches. Lowering the engine!) to provide the fitment and appearance their customers are looking for. This does affect the driving characteristics of the car slightly, but Manny has proven on the track that any impact is minimal.

Here's a shot from the side where you can see the height of the supercharger. For Manny and his team, this is more than a business. It is a passion for making the entire package one that the owner will enjoy for years to come and that onlookers will appreciate.
