As much as I wanted to stay and look further, my eyes were captured by a frame off build of a C3 Corvette. This restoration is a winter long project for the shop. This convertible will have a supercharged LS3 with a Dasilva custom cam, custom headers, a T5 TKO manual transmission with a custom driveshaft and a Ford 9″ rear end. All of that power requires power in the stopping department also and you will not be disappointed. Custom ordered, polished Wilwood calipers and 14.5″ rotors. When completed this car will also have a fully redone interior and, a nice touch for humid summer days while out for a cruise, air conditioning that is fully modern yet has that classic look. It will be supplied by Vintage Air. On almost all of the cars you will find something from Vibrant Performance – a company that has exhaust and induction components for virtually every build.
A restomod maintains the classic looks but incorporates safety and performance improvements that have occurred since the vehicle was originally built. As you can appreciate, a project like this takes an incredible amount of time, work, and expertise. Multiple projects – wow – I am not sure if I would have any hair left! While the shop crew has an incredible amount of expertise there are some tasks that need to be out-sourced. Dasilva Motorsports has gotten some excellent companies to support them. The frames are blasted and powder coated by Stripping Technologies (Did you read about the S2000 powered Datsun 510 of J.P.Ellis? His dad owns and operates Stripping Technologies). Upolstery is outsourced. Paint was done onsite, but the paint shop has moved to a larger location which allowed Dasilva to expand. Vehicle wraps are done by Image 1.
