Feal Suspension 442, The Best Sentra B Chassis Shocks!: Tested on the K24 powered NX2000

The front setup has camber plates. What is even better about this setup is that there are 8 holes that you can move the bolts about. This may not seem important, but if you need to move them and the bolt is hitting the strut tower, if there wasn’t adjustability then you’d be pulling out the Sawzall. With the Feal Suspension system, you can just move the bolt back to a new location and gain a ton of room. Smart.

The finish on the Feal Suspension 442 kit is marvelous. Looking down the available threaded holes – to allow flexibility during placement while not changing the camber – are easily visible.
There are 8 mounting locations for the camber plate bolts, thus if the bolts are hitting the strut tower there is likely room to gain my merely moving the bolts back.

Installation on the NX1600 is where the glamour stops and you realize that you are working on an almost 30-year-old car that has seen a lot of snow and salt over the years. Not that there is rust – that has been kept to a minimum by the liberal application of petroleum-based products (typically referred to as oil spraying) twice a year. While I haven’t had the car sprayed recently, there is still a wealth of material coating the underside of the car. You cannot touch the chassis without instantly being coated in black material. I say this to promote taking steps to rust-proof your car but also to beg your indulgence when you view pictures that do not reveal a car that is right off of the showroom floor.

My initial concerns about clearance have vanished. The short hose between the shock and the reservoir hasn’t been an issue.
There was lots of room in the rear wheel wells. Still more cleaning to happen as you can see. Don’t worry, the nuts went on and were properly torqued.

  1. Easy to tell that the aero platform will be much improved, as well, in addition to improved grip afforded by the new suspension kit. Removing the front bar should lead to improved traction coming out of corners as well.
I may have missed it, but what are the specs on the new wheels? Looks like they poke a bit more, wondering if that’s leading to some scrub radius challenges, perhaps?
The Island Circuit looks spectacular, we need some onboard video Frank!

    1. My camera game is really off right now. I have virtually no track video from the three outings that I’ve had. Yes – I was out at the track today for the final outing before the NX K24 is stored for the winter. The wheels haven’t changed – Gram Light 15×8 – but the custom LCA’s absolutely push the wheels out/forward. And I need to spend some time adjusting the rear LCA’s to pull them in better! Plus I have to adjust the rear wing. And the splitter angle is off for some reason – perhaps the antifreeze induced spin did an unknown adjustment to my splitter supports.

  2. Awesome to see this car still in action! A little sad to see the SR go, but there’s nothing better than having a track car that just works with no worries.
