Nerd’s Eye View: SEMA Edition 2012, Part II

,

Pretty standard digital dash with an LED shift light array attached to the cowl in the driver’s line of sight.  For the drag racers out there, the red button on the lower left side of the steering wheel is a line lock button; World Challenge races begin with a standing start.  At least that’s what I think the button is for…. Or maybe it’s for holding the brakes during a pit stop?  Anyone else care to venture a guess?  As for the drink button, I’m guessing it only pumps water or a sports drink.

How about just one more race car….

… Because it has a super buff cage.  Again, note the extra gusseting added to the X-bars on the roof and in the rear.

Onto a Trophy race truck!

I would guess these are the radiators for the engine.  I imagine they are mounted back there for protection and weight distribution.  I’m guessing that’s a tool box for field repairs and tire changes.  I’m not sure what that air cylinder is for…
