With everything together, we eagerly went for a test ride. The default shock settings that the Pedders coilovers came shipped with had an excellent ride, about the same as the stiffest factory setting of the MagneRide stock suspension. We felt that the stock suspension on full stiff was comfortable but not stiff enough for serious use especially with tires with more grip than stock.
The Pedders coilovers had enough leeway to adjusts softer for plenty of comfort and stiff enough to do some causal track use with larger tires with more grip. We were able to adjust the damping to be really stiff, stiff enough to provide control for larger tires and the additional forces they generate. With the rubber upper mounts and plastic spring thrust bearings, the Pedders coilover did not have your typical coilover squeaks, rattles, and clunks and were as silent as the stock shocks.
So the ability to significantly lower the car with no degradation of ride comfort or NVH plus the ability to crank it up in the case of track use with better tires, the Pedders coilovers for the Chevy SS are better than the stock MagneRide suspension and are a winner in our book!
