Pictured here is a new design for the Honda K20/K24, with a compression ratio of 12.5:1 (and higher available) with off-the-shelf 3D milling.
Partnered with JE Pistons, Wiseco released its new line of Boostline connecting rods. These take the best elements of an H-beam and I-beam, and combine them. The patent-pending 3-pocket design is said to add stability and reduce weight. Wiseco reports a 25% improvement in strength and 60% more bending resistance than a conventional H-beam. The rod is manufactured from 4340 chromoly steel and includes ARP 2000 bolts. The Wiseco Boostline rods are available already for GM LS, small and big block Chevys, modular Ford 4.6/5.0 Coyote, Nissan VR38DETT, SR20DET, Mitsubishi 4B11 and 4G63, Subaru EJ25, Toyota 2JZGTE, VW 1.8T, and Honda K24 engines. They’re rated to handle up to 2000hp on a V8.
Someone at Wiseco was extraordinarily creative. But think about it, with each rod retailing for about a $150 a piece, you can imagine how much it would take to reproduce this patio set, because I counted about 90 total (that’s $13,500 in parts)! Add to that the table, and the labor, and you’re in business.
I mentioned earlier that there were several Street Outlaw cars at PRI, and JE had a well-known one in its booth—the Goliath 2.0, driven by “Daddy Dave”. Stay tuned, we’ll have a series of “PRI: Street Outlaw special edition” articles soon! And you see–there’s yet another Street Outlaw car with a ProCharger blower on it…
