Project 370Z – Stillen Brake Duct Kit Install and Testing

,

Front fender liner needs to come off to be able to remove the front bumper so we can start to route the ducts and mount the fang brackets.  Readers will notice the AEM cold air intakes from Project 370's first install article, that was a year ago and they are still working great

Bolting up the duct entry bracket is simple using both OE and Stillen supplied hardware.  The carefully and properly developed bracket fits the OE bumper shape perfectly.
The view of the duct entry bracket in front is seamless with the bumper styling making it barely noticeable.  What isn't as low key is Clint's creepy face in the background.

Next we have to get the hub off the knuckle arm so the brake duct plate can be mounted.  The ABS sensor needed to be unbolted first since it resides in a slot on the back side of the wheel bearing.

Some of the 4 hub bolts are at somewhat tricky angles to get a socket on, but nothing some clever impact swivel adapters and a breaker bar couldnt handle.  Just as a general tip, when using breaker bars to loosen bolts, dont rush.  Be progressive with how much torque you apply.  Helps reduce the chances of shearing a bolt head and turning a 5 min job into a several hour one.
