Project Autocross BRZ: More Nameless Art

,

Spinning it up on the dyno with the track pipe installed.

Final results on the dyno:
Run 3 – TRD airbox, Nameless 4-2-1 Stepped header, 3 inch/ 2.5inch over/front pipe with stock catback exhaust
Run 6 – TRD airbox Nameless 4-2-1 Stepped header, 3 inch/ 2.5inch over/front pipe with stock catback w/ Nameless track pipe

Removing this could really be worth it for 3 whp and 1 ft lb of torque after all it is only two bolts.

Talking over results with King Motorsports very own Tim Martin.

As we were packing things up and unstrapping the BRZ from the dyno we were discussing the validity of what was proven to us from this session. Starting with the tune from John Reed Racing and Nameless Performance combined with the unique header design has proven to remove the killer BRZ/FR-S dreaded torque dip. We also came to the conclusion that this car's cat back exhaust system will need to be addressed in the near future as it has been shown that the stock muffler alone is sapping very usable power. Lastly as you can see that there are dips at roughly 2800 rpms and 3300 rpms, that we figure warranted a call to Nameless. After a short discussion with Jason Griffith of Nameless performance it looks as if it may be due to the difference in airflow volume that TRD intake creates. I guess that the TRD intake will be getting shelved until the next dyno session.

Up next for the future Project Autocross BRZ, can we build a better exhaust?
