Project E46 M3, Part 19: Powerflex Bushings and Maintenance

,

Trying to remove a factory bushing without the proper tools can become an act of futility. Bavarian Autosport sells its own trailing arm bushing tool that is specific for this job. It will be used both for removing the old ones and installing the new Powerflex units.

The Bav Auto trailing arm tool appears to be very high quality, and it features CNC machined components.

The only other thing you’ll need to make this tool work is a 24 mm socket and/or wrench.

This isn’t the first time we’ve needed a specific bushing tool from Bavarian Autosport. In Part 12 we needed this tool to properly finish the rear bushings of the front control arms.

Let’s begin the installation by removing our two rear D-Force wheels.
