Next up is Cobb Tuning's high flow cold air intake.  The Cobb intake replaces the restrictive intake piping with a smooth, 3″ in diameter, one piece, mandrel bent tube that is finished in wrinkle black powdercoat.
A large low restriction dual cone, oiled fabric, air filter keeps the air clean while reducing intake restriction. The Cobb system makes use of the excellent stock ram air factory airbox while improving the flow with the intake pipe and filter.
The Cobb intake has welded in brackets for an easy direct bolt on installation, bead rolled ends for good retention, the proper fittings for crankcase venting and thick multi ply silicone couplers. The intake needs ECU tuning to work properly but that is going to be handled next!
The secret sauce that brings this engine upgrade package together is the Cobb Tuning Access Port.  The Access Port allows you to reflash your ECU to accommodate any mod you can think of with full control of all parameters related to tuning and calibration.  The Access Port comes with a storage case, a USB cable so you can retrieve updates and tuning programs from Cobb Tuning's website, an OBDII Port cable, a mounting bracket and a different colored bezel so you can change its looks if you want to. 
The most important feature of the Access Port is its ability to tune the factory ECU by reflashing it through the OBDII port, similar to how factory software updates are done. We will be using this to dial in our car. When tuning, the Access Port can store over 100 different maps so you can have a pump gas, race gas, E85, Valet, reduced power for your teenager or any number of maps you might dream up.  The Access Port can also serve as a data logger, be configured as an electronic gauge, a shift light, a boost gauge, an acceleration performance computer and an OBDII diagnostic/scan tool.  The Access Port functions not only as a tuning tool but also replaces many other electronic tools and gadgets. 
Our car has already exhibited severe wheel hop when flooring the throttle around tight turns or accelerating hard from a stop. A lot of the wheel hop is caused by a mushy rear motor mount. Cobb Tuning has come to the rescue by engineering a new harder 6061 billet aluminum and polyurethane mount that is not only stiffer, reducing wheelhop but with engineered flex, so as not to be as impactful on noise and vibration as a solid mount would be.
