Project FR-S: Getting More Grip with Whiteline, Cusco, Rays Wheels and Achilles 123S Tires!

,

You can see how small the stock bar is in this picture.  The Whiteline bar has some good 3D CNC bends to mimic the stock bar ensuring good fitment.  The centering clamps are a nice touch as well.  Notice the stock bar has them.  These keep the bar in place by not letting it move from side to side.  This way the sway bar action is consistent and all motion is put into twisting the bar instead of moving it laterally.

A MotoIQ tip that we always use on bars is to wrap the bar with teflon tape where the bushings ride.  This does two things, reduces static friction which contributes to tire shock and makes sure that the bar will never squeak.

Wrap it on just like this, simple!

Howard greases up the bar over the tape.  He also greases the inside of the bushing.  The tape helps retain the grease.  It looks ugly but the bar will work smoothly for a long time.

Getting the bar in place.

Here we go, all bolted down and ready.

  1. I’m curious to hear your logic for going with the 18″ wheels instead of 17″. The 18’s definitely look better but I know looks alone aren’t enough for MotoIQ.
