The subframe bolts are tightened up and we are ready to rock. We feel that these bushings are going to make a big difference in the car’s at the limit feel and handling.
Although the FR-S/BR-Z has some engine compartment bracing stock, we decided to add these Cusco bits to further stiffen the chassis. The FR-S has a pretty stiff body structure but stiffer never hurt anyone. A stiffer chassis responds to chassis tuning better and since the chassis acts as a giant undamped spring, the less it flexes the better. The suspension works more effectively and even the ride improves when the chassis is reinforced. The Cusco bar is made of lightweight and stiff aluminum. The best feature is an adjustable brace for the master cylinder. A lot of the mush you feel in your brakes is due to flexing of the firewall where the master cylinder mounts. All cars do this and the firewall can flex as much as 0.50″. The Cusco brace cuts this down quite a bit and you can really feel the difference it makes.
The Cusco shock tower to firewall braces replace the stock parts and are larger in diameter and adjustable so they can be slightly preloaded making them more effective.
This rear brace connects the shock towers together in the rear trunk area.
You can see the elaborate bends in this part so it can fit well in the small area it has to bolt in to.
The brace connects the two outer subframe mounting point together and goes under the car. Cusco has since come out with a few more braces and we will be evaluating them soon.

I’m curious to hear your logic for going with the 18″ wheels instead of 17″. The 18’s definitely look better but I know looks alone aren’t enough for MotoIQ.
To fit over the brakes.
