Once the rings are in place inside the ring compressor tool, the tool is carefully placed over the cylinder and the pistons are tapped in place with a mallet hammer.
The rod bolts are lubricated for accurate torque readings.
After slightly tightening the rod bolts with a T-wrench, a torque wrench is used to do the final tightening.

The rod bolts can be torqued to spec, but the torque-to-yield stock main cap bolts must be torqued via the angular method for the final tightening sequence.

With the short-block assembled, it was time to take a look at the head.
